Sava Center is an international, congress, cultural and business centre of various multi-functional activities. Situated in the close vicinity of Sava and Danube Rivers mouth, five minutes away from the in-centre of the town and fifteen minutes from “Nikola Tesla” Airport. Its construction lasted from 1976 thru 1979, and the chief designer and team manager was Stojan Maksimović.
Together with the "Continental" Hotel it represents a unique architectural ensemble. Thanks to its potentials, technical equipment and highly professional human resources. Sava Center is qualified to organize the largest-scale congress gatherings and to arrange for performance of the most complex artistic shows.
The Centre is of 69,720 square meters useful and of 100,000 square meters overall area. The users of Sava Center services are given access to: large theatre seating 4000, 15 conference halls, services of a professional team of congress and cultural events managers, exhibition area, modern audio-visual equipment, press-center and a number of contemporary fitted offices.
Sava Center annually hosts about 150 concerts, 135 conventions, over one hundred first-run movies and two hundred showings. Between 400,000 and 500,000 visitors attend cultural programs in the course of the year and an average of 450 participants take part in conventions (from 30 to 4,000 per conference). Sava Center attracts thousands of Belgraders on daily basis, not only for business purposes but for pleasure in visiting business complex and shopping moll or any of numerous restaurants and coffee shops. It is estimated that Sava Center is daily visited by 2,000 people.
Sava Center has been the host of significant congress gatherings and artistic programs: OEBS, Annual General Meeting of MMF and World Bank, 55th Annual General Meeting of Interpol, 6th UNKTAD, General Meeting of UNESKO, FOREKS, FISIT, 9th Summit of Non-aligned Countries.
