During its history, Serbia has been and still is one of the most important and greatest intersections of important roads, which connect northern and western Europe with its southern and eastern parts and further with the whole world. Belgrade is an important center at the longest navigable route Danube-Rhine-Main, which connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Black Sea and the Mediterraneane.

TOURIST FEATURES OF BELGRADE

Belgrade is one of the oldest European capitals with valuable architectural buildings of different epochs, and the world famous cultural-historical monuments. There are, among others, the Kalemegdan fortress and the Roman well.

Today, Belgrade is a city with 2 million citizens, with modern communications, the greatest sports, cultural, trade and tourist center, with many museums, the national theatre, numerous sports centers, the congressional center "Sava", Kalemegdan, Skadarlija, Avala, Košutnjak, Ada Ciganlija.

Belgrade with the rivers of Sava and Danube, with Srem background and surroundings, rich forests, excursion sites, is very suitable for development of hunting, fishing and nautical tourism. Especially attractive is the river route Belgrade-Đerdap and upstream way to European metropolises, located along the Danube.
